Repurposing as Alchemy

Repurposing as Alchemy
Webster’s Dictionary defines alchemy as “a power or process of transforming something common into something special.”

We see repurposing as more than making an oak door into a dining table or a golf trophy into a lamp. Repurposing can be a creative and exciting way to incorporate a client’s existing furniture into a new interior; preserving its meaning & value while extending its usefulness.

The pictures below show one of our repurposing projects. While the original table was far from common, we think we succeeded in both transforming it into something special, and in providing the client with something that was far more functional in her newly designed living room.

You can see a video of this transformation at our YouTube channel, Restoration in Action! So… have we got you thinking about performing a little alchemy on one of your pieces?!
